Re; 11th World Red Poll
Congress Tour
We have just had the
pleasure of taking part in the above Tour which actually doesn't conclude
until tomorrow, unfortunately we had to leave early.
When touring in such close
quarters with so many guests of varied ages, personalities, likes, dislikes,
its critical to the success of everyone's enjoyment to have the right people
looking after you.
It also has a big impact
to the ongoing success of a Business to have your best people at the coal
face. This is where it can make such a difference, word of mouth is a great
advertising tool so you want it to be positive!
Your choice of
driver/guide for our group was Garry and we thank you very much for that.
Apparently Garry has been with you for a number of years, we understand why
and would imagine he is a valued Staff member, one you would not want to
lose to a competitor or at all for that matter.
Garry's driving skills and
patience are amazing, we discovered you have some challenging roads in NZ!
Our own Tour guide tested Garry's skills in this area by frequently (albeit
unintentionally) giving wrong directions, missing driveways etc, not once
was this a problem for Garry.
He has incredible general
knowledge and a proud and in depth knowledge of his Country which kept
everyone interested and well informed.
Always the professional,
Garry was very attentive, nothing was ever too much trouble and with his
great personality mixed easily and comfortably amongst the group.
We had a fantastic time on
the Tour and due in no small part to Garry, we have come away with some
wonderful memories of our trip to NZ.
With many thanks and kind
regards,
Gay Ward and Judy Rand.

Dear Sir
We have recently spent two weeks in New Zealand and are
writing you to commend the company on the outstanding choice of coach drivers/tour guides
for our group excursion. Separately, each had his strengths but on reflection of the
entire trip, the skills and rapport of Colin and Steve were extraordinary and made our
trip all the more memorable.
Both Colin and Steve were, first and foremost skilful and
safe divers. They were also always aware of and concerned for our comfort and enjoyment.
Each knew and chose the perfect stops, whether for photo opportunities at important sites,
"retail therapy" lunch stops or comfort stops.
Colin and Steve got to know us as individuals, often
calling us by name early on in the journey something extra appreciated by us all. They
were problem-solvers who always had a suggestion for restaurants, free time or where to
find what.
Above all they were gentlemen in the truest sense of the
word, a trait noticed early on by each of us and one that is sadly lacking in much of our
society these days but so greatly appreciated and admired when discovered in someone.
While both Colin and Steve were excellent guides who love
New Zealand and were proud to show it off and provide commentary about history,
biographies of important individuals and life and commerce today, Steve could be
considered a skilled raconteur. Colin had told us that "what Steve doesn't know about
the South Island isn't worth knowing" and he was right on the mark.
Steve's extensively researched knowledge and commentary on
history, anthropology, natural vegetation, geology, farming (dairy, sheep, deer, etc)
forestry, wines and vineyards other agriculture, natural features, power production,
politics (unbiased and informative) plus less extensive subjects was unbelievable. He told
a tall tale that he was shy when he began working as a coach drive. We didn't believe him
or he masterfully came out of his shell.
In addition to his knowledge, he was extremely personable.
He was cheerful, good humoured, accommodating to group whims and he actually seemed to
enjoy being with us too. He joined in on a birthday party posing good naturedly with the
birthday girl and took part in various other group activities. He chimed in with group
comments, jokes, and stories. Laughter and bantering, making it all the more enjoyable for
us.
These are two very extraordinary people who ensured that we
would encounter no problems at any point, often going into a place to make sure that all
was well. You are indeed fortunate to have such highly qualified and skilled drivers in
your employ. We certainly were fortunate and benefited from them greatly and had a
marvellous time primarily because of them.
Thank you very much for a wonderful visit to New Zealand.
Very sincerely Janet A Curlew

Thanks very much for looking after us so well these past
few days. We have all really appreciated the effort you have made to show us as much of
your lovely country as possible within the time allowed and also for your commentaries and
observations on the culture, fauna and botany of New Zealand.
Your driving has been brilliant and we have all been
completely at ease. We've really enjoyed your company and we are sorry that you will not
be accompanying us to the South Island. Perhaps we'll meet again the next time we come all
the best and thanks again Kia Oral!!
